BLITZER: “John Kirby, you were the state Department spokesperson and the Pentagon spokesman. What is your reaction to that?”
KIRBY: “I cringed, I have to say. Look, rule number one, you never compare Hitler to anything, and it’s just — you just — that’s not smart. It never ends well. And I think, frankly, he made it worse when he tried to explain it in the briefing and then — and in the statement.
