Krauthammer: ‘Clueless Commander-in-Chief’ Doesn’t Get Scale of Terror Attack
KRAUTHAMMER: "Well, I think he’s comfortable with that, but I think what we’re really looking for here and what I think he is trying to do — I’m sure his staff has insisted on this because I’m not sure he himself has seen this. He has presented himself as a clueless commander-in-chief at a time when we’ve had one of the worst terror attacks since 9/11. The tone of everything he’s done since especially the Paris attack has been completely wrong, saying that Paris was a setback. His initial reaction to the attack here was to talk about gun control. And in this press conference abroad, he was totally bloodless, emotionless in talking about this, in contrast to the way he talks about global warming, for example. The American people are scared, not just because we were hit, but because they have a sense that there is no leader in charge who takes it seriously. So number one objective here is to show a tone of seriousness and concern. Perhaps he can pull it off, but I think apart from the strategy and outlining something real on the ground, he has to start by doing that."
