Sanders’ Camp Manager: None of the Culinary Union’s Health Care Benefits Would Disappear Under Medicare for All

‘They’ll remain untouched’

EXCERPT:

SHAKIR: "Under Medicare-for-all, none of culinary, wonderful, hard-fought gains, whatever, disappear. Their clinics would remain untouched. But what we are fighting for is tens of millions of other Americans to get quality health care coverage as well and to get the ability to live freely without worrying about medical bankruptcy. Culinary has gotten some wonderful health care benefits, they’ll remain untouched. And we have some education work to do to make sure people understand the benefits of Medicare-for-all and the fact that it won’t impact their current coverage, but really extend to bring tens of millions of people into a process of getting similarly high-quality coverage."
